Impera Marketing Inc. has been growing despite a slow growing economy. Top economists from The Wall Street Journal and Forbes predict a 2% increase of our GOP in 2017. The problem across the country is a lack of enough employers and opportunities for all of the college graduates entering the job market. With the fiscal cliff rapidly approaching, it's a wonder that Impera Marketing inc. is experiencing one of its biggest quarters on record. The client base for the firm has expanded from sports and entertainment venues to leaders in the Satellite Television and Entertainment industries. This upcoming quarter, the company will be launching new programs to continue their major presence in some of the country's largest retailers.
"Our clients are seeing the benefits of our in-store marketing programs. In turn, we are launching new marketing and promotional campaigns in other retailers throughout New York and Connecticut," says William Pinkett, The company's President. In 2017, Impera will be expanding its presence in several of the country's biggest retailers. "We are literally taking our marketing campaigns and products into the stores. Due to the foot traffic in the retail stores, our clients are getting five times the recognition."
Mr. Pinkett was asked why he thinks the company has been able to grow despite the issues in the economy that are causing most companies in the marketing and sales industry to scramble for profits. In a recent report published on Money.cnn.com, Chris Isidore reports in an article titled, "Unemployed face more competition as job openings decrease" that there are 3.4 million open positions for the month. The drop in available jobs means there are 3.7 unemployed job seekers for each opening.
"There are two reasons for our continued growth. Our clients need results and we are a results-based company. Traditional marketing is on its heels right now due to high costs and low return rates. The future of advertising was supposed to be 'on-line click' advertising. According to most reports, the rate-of-return is around a measly .2%. We've been telling our clients for years that the best way to acquire new customers is to give them an incentive to use and then, once you have an incentive for the customer, get it in front of them as quick and efficiently as possible. That's what we've done for years and what we'll continue to do in the future."
William Pinkett goes on to describe the second reason for the businesses massive success, and as you hear him talk, you can tell why clients are lining up to be represented by members of the marketing team. "It's all about sales and communication skills. Ask any Director of Marketing or Sales of any professional sports franchise and they will tell you the same thing; it's about putting people in the seats. Our management trainees are taught this from day one. We attract people that have a very clear goal of moving up in their career. Some people want to sit behind a desk, look busy, put in just enough work to not get fired, and leave the building at 5 pm sharp every day, and unfortunately for them, this is not going to be that place. By surrounding ourselves with ambitious, hard-working, and driven team members, we don't have to deal with people not being on the same page as us. We have a 100% promotion from within policy, so all our growth has come from people that know our philosophies and work ethic. Our training program is hard, very hard, but that's why we develop such great managers and team members. Let's face it, a lot of people would love to manage one of our offices, but don't want to do what it takes to get there. It's not what you want out of life, it's what are you willing to do to get it. Our team members are the key to our growth and deserve all the credit. Their hard work and perseverance are what separates us from everyone else."
After talking to Mr. Pinkett, there's no doubt that no matter which direction the economy goes, there's only one place the company is going, and that is "Up!" Combine a great marketing plan with a second-to-none work ethic, and it is easy to see why expectations are higher than ever. In the last 18 months, the company has expanded into Rochester New York, Newburgh New York, Syracuse NY, Buffalo NY, Albany NY and Bridgeport CT. Impera Marketing inc. is located at 176 Main Street Owego, NY 13827.
As the first quarter of the year comes to a close, Impera Marketing, Inc shows no sign of slowing down, even for a moment. As the weather warms, the fastest growing promotional marketing firm in the Southern Tier of New York announces they have sprung into Rochester as they expand their territory into the State’s third largest city.
Earlier this same year Impera had expanded their territory into the Syracuse market, just an hour from their main office which is located in Owego, NY. This accomplishment was met with much positivity as the training program doubled to fill the open positions in the new terrain. Then, almost immediately piggy backing on that success, Rochester became the new target and within the same month it was acquired through the expansion of the training program and the promotion of several quality managers including the newest Account Manager, Ian Rennia, a Broome County local.
With a secure team already in place and optimism for the start of the second quarter, President William Pinkett shares the attitude of the team in a weekly meeting; “We all share the same goals and enthusiasm with the new territory. There is a unity in that as we move forward and an excitement about the things to come”. Freshly back from the Annual Leader’s Meeting in Dallas, TX, Pinkett is full of vision for this quarter. For those who left to tackle the new City and for those continuing to run things from the Southern tier office, everyone has really come together to make sure the core of the business stays the same despite all the new changes and growth. “No matter how large we become, the core values and belief of the firm will always remain the same” Pinkett assures.
When asked why the sudden expansion to Rochester when Syracuse had just been acquired Pinkett shares “If we keep celebrating our old successes instead of moving forward with every new opportunity, then we eventually will become stagnant… We are always looking for the next challenge and that is what keeps us sharp”.
In the Owego office, the administrative team takes on it’s own personal growth as they welcome December 2016 SUNY Cortland graduate, Dana Todora to the firm to help with the growth from the home front. Savvy with her online and written ability, Todora helps with the company branding and new online website blog which gives a personal summary to the faces behind the Impera Marketing team. The fresh eye and perspective has also been a huge contribution both to the administrative and directing sides of the business.
With a solid team at the home base and a growing new team in the beautiful city by Lake Ontario it seems like nothing is going to stop this firm from attacking this new chapter head on.
OWEGO, NY— The end of 2016 has been very eventful for the fastest-growing marketing firm in the Southern Tier region. Impera Marketing has experienced its biggest year in growth and this progress hasn’t gone unnoticed. Company President, William Pinkett, was awarded Comeback Manager of the Year at the company’s 2016 October convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“It truly is remarkable to be looking back on the goals we set going into this year and to realize that we not only accomplished them, but also surpassed them,” Assistant Manager, Michael Watkins stated, in reference to the close of the calendar year.
With this strength and rapid growth, Impera Marketing has not lost sight of the importance of giving back to surrounding comminutes. Through research, Pinkett discovered Young Life: Bronx. Young Life is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe haven for expectant youths. In a comparison of all New York City boroughs, the Bronx has the highest percentage of teenage pregnancies. The volunteers that make up this non-profit have dedicated themselves to aiding young mothers and their children.
On November 27, 2016, Pinkett dedicated $4,000 to this cause and created a partnership with them. “I cannot think of a better use for the money” Pinkett shared. “These are individuals whom greatly care about improving the lives of those around them. I want to be a part of that because I would like to see more of that in this world. I only invest in causes I truly feel passionate about.”
Gearing up to hit the ground running in 2017 with goals of more territory expansions and promotions within the company, Impera Marketing will continue to recognize and support charities both locally and nationally. “Having more only means you are capable of giving more,” Pinkett mentioned during a recent meeting. “We are very fortunate to have experienced the success we have this year. We will end this final quarter with our heads held high and ready for the new challenges 2017 will bring.”

Through his leadership and mentoring, William inspires others to push themselves, allowing his team to consistently deliver and meet goals. Thinking outside the box and creative problem solving are his greatest assets – which allows him to consistently drive revenue and work with the biggest clients on the planet. This October, he was awarded the most prestigious award, Comeback Manager of the Year on the annual company trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. When he spoke to the audience of over 1,000 of his peers at the awards ceremony he said, “This business has given me purpose. This business has given more power. The business has given me influence. This business has given me power.”
What type of culture do you try to foster within your team?
I like to treat my team like my family – we are all accountable, respectful, considerate, collaborative and put in the hard work necessary to understand our customers’ challenges and how we can help them reach success. I feel like, since we spend such a large percentage of time at work, the least we can do is work hard, have fun and love the people we work with.
What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career?
I was in the fraud prevention business and facing the prospect of staying at my job and remaining underemployed or taking a gamble on myself in the marketing industry. Thanks to a very determined acquaintance, who put my resume in front of the manager, I finally got an interview and was hired. The moral of that story is that when a chapter in your life ends, another begins – have faith, passion and work hard and you CAN land right-side up.
What is the best career advice you ever received?
Always work from a place of integrity so that you never burn bridges. People may not always like you, but in the end if they at least respect you, then you’ve succeeded.
What makes a good leader?
A good leader is someone who leads with integrity and transparency. They understand the strengths and weaknesses of their team, and they look for ways to improve the strengths and address the weaknesses. They are direct and honest – you always know where you stand and what the expectations are.
OWEGO, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 29, 2016) - It has been an incredible two years of growth for one of the Southern Tier's fastest growing marketing firms, Impera Marketing. The Tioga County based firm continues to build a national footprint, while aligning their goals for the beginning of 2016.
In-store marketing firm, Impera Marketing, is located in the heart of the Historic District of Owego. This central location is keen on job growth and career development in the triple-cities area. Binghamton, Elmira, and Ithaca have been rapidly growing in the past two years. So, how has Impera Marketing taken advantage of these rapidly growing cities thus far?
The first of the three-part surge in expansion took place in September of 2015. President William Pinkett aided in the expansion with Neil Spalter from Endicott, New York to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mr. Spalter, a lifelong entrepreneur, former United States Air force cryptologist, and Arithmetic Professor of Binghamton University has tremendously benefited from the clients in that region. In January of 2016, William facilitated a second expansion with Michael Watkins. Mr. Watkins is a Cedar Crest University Alumnus who took the empire state by storm by opening an office in Geneva, New York. According to Forbes, the Finger Lakes region of New York State is among the most untapped territories in the nation for business and career growth. While preparing first quarter projections, William is preparing for a third expansion with the help of Naomi West. Naomi, a former Yale University graduate and Navy veteran, will be taking on a new client and furthering productivity and company-wide growth in the Newburgh, NY area.
When asked about first quarter goals and the momentum thus far in 2016, Mr. Pinkett responded, "We have an unwavering management team in place, and their enthusiasm has sparked a winning mindset throughout the organization. This will launch us to new heights in 2016." With more growth brewing before March 2016 and whispers of an additional client on the horizon, William proclaims that this will be "the most prolific First quarter Impera Marketing Inc. has ever experienced."
Mr. Pinkett closes with, "It is a significant honor to mentor such an outstanding group of individuals." Humbled by the company's success, William states, "It feels like it was just yesterday when we began making a name for ourselves in Upstate New York. The privilege to step back and see how much our hard work has paid off in just over four years, is something that creates a culture that everyone from myself, to the new generation can appreciate."
